<itunes:summary>After talking about it for over a year, the SunshineGirls have decided to try out podcasting. The three of us spend about 90% of our online time doing something related to shopping: shopping for ourselves, looking for coupons, reading feedback from other shoppers, etc. So it was natural to decide that the theme of our podcasts would be online shopping. Specifically, we will be talking about where women are shopping (because we are women and because the majority of our sites are focused on women).</itunes:summary>

With consumers trying to save money in any way that they can and merchants trying to retain loyal customers, merchants rewards program are popping up everywhere. Cindy and Tricia surveyed Sunshine Rewards members to see which were their favorite merchant programs that you can combine with Sunshine Rewards coupons and cash back.

Click here to sign up for Sunshine Rewards to get cash back on every purchase.

* What are the point of the programs? Some merchants make it easy to learn about their programs while others seem to hide them.
* Traditional cash programs where you get a percentage back from every purchase to spend later on the site. Great examples are drugstore.com dollars, eBay bucks, and Football Fanatics.
* Points programs where you get points for purchases and can later convert them to credits on the merchants site. Most popular included Best Buy Rewards Zone and 1-800-Flowers Fresh Rewards. A new one to Sunshine Rewards is SubscriptionAgent.com.
* Loyalty programs where you do not get get free merchandise credits but you might get even better deals. Prime examples are the Shoebuy 10% coupon for repeat buyers and the Sephora Beauty Insider program.

In what will go down as the most technically challenged podcast yet, we finally managed to pull off 30 minutes of talk about where to get NFL merchandise. Instead of our usual Skype (which we couldn’t use because my computer kept cutting out), we attempted a friend’s suggestion of a conference call site. It took us awhile to get the hang of it and by the time we actually started recording, we were laughing ourselves silly. For better or worse, here it is.

Show Notes:

A slight giggle fit that we had to work through before we could actually get to the discussion. Cindy found a way to work the Steelers into every sentence.

Angie talked about Fathead and how she decorated her rec/bonus room with all kinds of Colts memorabilia, including a larger than life Peyton Manning. Here’s the link to the Fathead video that we talked about. It shows how Angie incorporated the Fathead into her room. (Fathead coupons and 6% cash back)

Lots of stuff besides NFL at Fathead, including Disney characters and college teams. They also have some good specials going right now (and usually do).

Tricia introduced Football Fanatics. Everyone agreed that they have the best variety of NFL merchandise from clothes to entertainment to decor. Despite some problems with merchandise, their customer service team has always come through with a way to remedy problems.

Tricia admitted to owning one Colts shirt that she bought at Football Fanatics but only wears in the off season (but it is comfy and washes up nice). (Football Fanatics coupons and 5% cash back)

Flat rate shipping and the 10% Fanatics Rewards credits make it worth it to spend a lot of money there.

Lastly, cindy talked about NFL Shop. They have a great selection of jerseys, including the ability to personalize your own (like Cindy does for her dogs). They also have some “Legacy” jerseys of retired players and some neat outdoor games branded with teams. It’s easy to get addicted to buying from there. (NFL Shop coupons and cash back)

Surprisingly, no fights broke out about team wars. It could have been that Cindy and Tricia would have double teamed Angie anyway.

Summer has officially begun, and we wanted to review some of our favorite summer merchants. Although we kept with our same She Shops Around podcast format this time, we tried to incorporate some feedback from our listeners and keep the podcast at only 30 minutes. What do you think?

Show Notes:

* Cindy reviewed Bealls Department Store, a site that specializes in Florida fashion and housewares. No matter where you live, Bealls (pronounced “Bells”) is a great place to get summer clothes and outdoor items. Check out monthly Bealls coupons.
* Tricia walked through the KraftyKid.com website. Krafty Kid is an excellent place to get kits for your kids to use during the summer, at church, or for sleepovers. The kits come in different varieties, including bead kits for adults. Krafty Kid should also be looked at by scrapbook fans.
* Angie gave a nice overview of Eastern Mountain Sports. They frequently offer coupons and discounts on their wide variety of outdoor and athletic items. (EMS will even teach you how to build your own climbing wall, which I think Angie just might do). Get some great Eastern Mountain Sports coupons.
* We announced the winner of the last podcast contest (Nina P!) along with a new contest.

Next podcast…summer travel sites.
